Cerebral Venous Thrombosis and Persistent Pulsatile Tinnitus After Sigmoid Sinus Resurfacing Surgery

We report a case with rare complication of cerebral venous thrombosis, as well an incomplete response, after sigmoid sinus resurfacing surgery for pulsatile tinnitus (PT). A 24-year-old female patient PT originating from the underwent surgery. The was immediately resolved, but it recurred headache 5 days thrombosis identified and treated, persisted, although its frequency loudness decreased. Sigmoid is safe effective method to treat PT, in some patients, can cause serious complications and/or persistent tinnitus. In our patient, factors such changes blood viscosity due warfarin intake or increased flow weight loss may have influenced persistence It important identify various associated each these provide more tailored treatment individual patients future reduce increase effectiveness
